The Art of the Mind
(Before I begin this one...Let me jsut say that I was hoping for some kinda feedback on the last entry, or ANY entry for that matter, but I was sadly mistaken....)

Well, today's entry is dedicated to combined contrast...You know, the way things are so opposite at times, but yet and still, they find themselves together one way or another...Whether we have to look between the lines and really contemplate the situation, or, instead, just look at it for its face value.....

What brings me to this concept is that at this moment, my roomate, Doug, is on the phone with his ex-girlfriend frustratedly taking about getting back together with her....At times the talking is held at a low volume, but most of the time, outbursts erupt and so on and so forth....They have feelings for each other and they are going through a rough time at the moment....I'm not mentioning this to tell his business or anything but, rather, to establish the first half to the contrsat scenario....For within the same room, only about 6-7 feet away, on this very samae laptop, I was just talking to Kika, with whom I have no tension, frustration, etc shared....The only thing we both dislike is our physical distance....but otherwise, we are just dandy....It sounds trivial, but I can't help but to find it somewwhat interesting, if not some form of irony, that two opposite sides of a relationship spectrum are situated only a man's height away, so to speak, from eachother.....

I mean, its not even that...One can even look at the oh too popular "Other Side of the Tracks" example...Where you have two kinds of people in the same town/vicinity but divided nonetheless....In my hometown (Westbury, NY) one can SURELY witness this division....Most of the upper-middle class white families live west of Post Ave....On the eastern side, you begin to see the black and hispanic residents along with some of the white population of Westbury....Keep moving east, and you'll cross Brush Hollow Rd....And when you do that, you see that you've entered New Cassel (considered a part of Westbury) where its more the "urban" suburbs and hardly any white people live....And STILL, if you move north...You've entered Old Westbury....Thats the true rich people...This is where you'll find Howard Stern, Nas, Rosie O'Donnell, and even the Clintons were looking at a house over there....And this is ALL within an approximately 5 mile radius.....Interesting, no?

It's not awe inspiring, nor is it hart pounding....But it is indeed at least a little eyebrow raising as to the sheer fact that such opposing characteristics/attributes can be find so near to eachother, nearly become intermingled and homogeous, but yet, many times, as unified as oil and water....

Reality and actuality has an odd sense of humor.....
