My friends, in 1949 a book was published by George Orwell entitled 1984....In this book, Orwell tells a story of a totalitarian London set nearly 30 years into his future....now, what makes this story stand out among many reader's is the constant phrase "Big Brother is Watching You"....Sure, you may pass it off as just a story, a simple form of entertainment....But thats not so...It was more than that...It was a daring piece of literature written in satirical format to enlighten the common man as to what is going on, and if one would not take action, then in the near future, "Big Brother" truly WILL be watching.....
And you know what?....Though it is 18 years past Orwell's imagination, the near future is NOW...Too many times have we taken a stand against government issues, only to be cast off as radicals, and rebels....Extremists who have nothing better to do than form "ludicrous" and "extravagant" conspiracy theories....But guess what...Orwell was right...and now we have the TIPS program....
Pardon me if i'm being a little bit TOO analytical in this but as far as I'm concerned, and as far as the explanation given by their OWN website, we as a nation are now being alienated of our rights in the name of "Patriotism"...now would some one please explain to me, WHO is the extremist here?....
By the use of this program....a UPS delivery man, is given a special web address, making him now an "under cover agent", by which he can use to log on to a special, exclusive database where he reports that he noticed Mr. Jones is recieveing large packages at least 1-2 times a week....A truck driver from Dairy Queen can now pick up his cell phone and call some government hotline when he sees four individuals with long beard and wrapped heads laughing and such in the next lane over....Now, to the naked eye, these may seem like legit reasons to contact the authorities, but now take a look at this....One of the gfur guys probably told a funny joke or a hysterical story...Has that not happened to u before?..God forbid they ACTUALLY find something amusing....And what about Mr. Jones?...Well I know that my very own father works for Xerox (the copy machines) as a technician and they have a policy where parts for the copiers are delivered directly to the technicians house....Seems innocent enought now doesn't it?....
So then what makes the government think that such a blatant, horrendous act against one's personal rights can be broken in such a way?....Oh yeah, I forgot, so that we can KEEP our freedom....Alanis said it best..."Isn't it ironic?"....
I don't konw if i'm beating this into the ground, or if I'm getting my point across clearly....But point black, plain and simple, clear as day....This nation is no longer the home of the free....People...average, everyday citizens are becoming appointed as National Spies for the government...the are becoming the "Telescreens" that Orwell spoke so vividly about....no where in their job description does it say that aside from delivering packages or transporting goods, one also has the obligation to use their UNTRAINED judgment in commiting one's life to the hands of the authorities so that they can rampage and rape them of all their individual privacies.....No longer are muslims allowed to live their life, individual of the next citizen....Nedd I remind you all that we REALLY got a wake up call from a middle-aged White man by the name of Timothy McVeigh?....Need I remind you that the Unibomber was also of caucasian decent?....So why then are those with Mid-Eastern, South Asian or any Muslim/Hindu background the primary targets here?....
And the buck does not stop in the US....You see, though I understand the reasons of this issue, it still does not excuse the fact taht Bush is pretty much extorting Iraq into the allowance of US surveillance....My friends, if Iraq does not do what the US wants, make the US happy, and let the US know EXACTLY what it is doing 24-7-365, then the US will hurt them....How ridiculous is that?...If the US kept to itself as most other nations have done, we would not have to worry about war with those nations....You see, to me, the United States of America is nothing more than the kid who was never invited to the party, but once he does show up, he threatens to call the cops if your not playing his favorite music.....If that doesn't sum it up, I truly do not konw what will.....
Unfortunately, as the people we are, we cannot exactly just jump up and change the system, it takes a voice so loud, that it will awaken the sleeping giants of ability within us....and again, unfortunately, its all controlled by the government, media by censorship programs, public school are government run, even the streets, the one open, unconfined place where we should be most free, yeah, thats reigned over by twisted cops and corrupt policemen....
In Orwell's book, "Big Brother" states:
War is Peace means that by having a common enemy, we are united....Freedom is Slavery because the man whos is dependent is doomed to fail...by the same token Slavery is Freedom because he that is part of the collective is free from danger...and Ingnorance is Srength because the inablity of the people to recognize what is happening around them only cements and and strengthens the power and establishments of the authoritarian regime....Any of this sound familiar?WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH
And so, with that I close...The declaration of this act, which truly denies freedom, to be engaged for the PRESERVATION of freedom, is utterly and quite frankly preposterous....It is literally brainwashing....I beg of you....Be weary of what goes on around you...Remember that not everything that glitters is gold...And always hear the truth, before you know a lie....
