The Art of the Mind
And so, once again, I come to you, my friends, my readers, my classmates in Life101....Today, I come to you in regards of a topic QUITE worthy of discussion (That means your FEEDBACK is appreciated)....It is the ever present case of the infamous "Sell Out"....My people...The Sell Out is a person who has fallen victim to what I like to call the "SnowWhite Mirror Syndrome"....

First, let us breakdown what a Mirror actually does....Quite simply, one would say that it just reflects....but you see, its alot deeper than that...TRUE it reflects, but take notice to WHAT it reflects?....If it is a harmless rabbit that stands before the mirror....Than a harmless rabbit is reflected back, jsut flipped around....But let's say you stand a grotesque monster before the looking glass, and you get a grotesque monster as a reflection, reversed as well.....What remains constant?....The meer fact that the mirror is just doing it's job, whether for sumthing beautiful or hideous, and it's reversed....Now, the objects are not reversed, just the reflections.....

OK...now that THAT's out the way, let us now proceed with the evaluation of this egregious condition...Let us hypothetically say that Roger is the Sell Out, thus....OK, take note that he becomes teh mirror to his surroundings, thus reflecting eveything around him, but reverse...Right now, you must be thinking, "But he has yet to give me a basis to relate the phrase 'Sell Out'"...I'm gonna do that now.....OK....Roger, by being the mirror and reflecting his surroundings has changed himself as a mirror would....In both cases we see that neither Roger nor the mirror ACTUALLY look the way they appear with these reflectinos, its jsut not part of them, but it is there, thus changing their present appearence....Roger isn't true to himself....He lets the influences around him shape and dictate who and what he is instead of letting him do it himself....And just as a mirror would HAVE to make reflections in order to fulfill its purpose to be a mirror....Roger also HAS to find any way he sees in order to fulfil the purpose of reaching his goals......

Next, we look at the influences adn the reflections....As I mentioned before, a rabbit gets a reversed reflection....So let's say Roger was Sold Out for a good cause, say a religion or to help those in need, yes he would change his image in the eyes of others, but it'd be a POSITIVE reflection of the cause...and because it is reversed, the said Cause remains the same, but Roger would get his own unique positive image that he shows to others........But let's look at the monster....If he is influenced by ugly things, say corruption in general, we would then even see that reflection on him, changing his outward image for the worse.....The Corruption Monster doesn't change, it stays the same like the Positive Rabbit did...and Roger does change like last time, but this time its an ugly, reversed reflection....It's reversed, so therefore it's his own ugly reflection that is unique to him.....

Thus, we can now see why it is the "SnowWhite Mirror Syndrome", as the same Mirror seemed to have a dark and grave association with the Witch as it was hers, purposed to show her reflection....But As we see it in relation to SnowWhite, promulgating her beauty, the Mirror did not seem so bad after all.....It was onlt the source of of the image to be cast that changed.....

My friends...A Sell Out is someone who has been caught up in the things and situations around him/her...SO much that he/she is no longer what they should be....Instead, tehy sacrifice themselves in roder to rach what they want....They are the ones who will go and HUMILIATE themsleves in front of anyone just for the sake of making money....There is a thin line between Pride and Dignity but, infortunately, the Sell Out has none of these...A Sell Out is not a person who has gone into entertainment, earned a great deal of money, and moves from the projects to a mansion....A Sell Out is a person who does all that, but by degrading themselves just to get a few scraps off of Massah...er, ummm, I mean the CEO's table...THAT is what a Sell Out is....So don't go pointin fingers at people calling them Sell Outs and not knowing why....Don't fire your jealousy (no matter how little or large it may be) at another for doing well or changing their ways without thinking about it first....As much as YOU want to be in their shoes and you want THAT to be you...Be careful that, with all that jealousy and envy, your not the one asking "Who is the fairest of them all?"
